He's mindlessly chattering and hoping more mindless folk will help him with his dilemma! Unfortunately sir, this is not my field of expertise.

...
most mice use a generic PS/2 mouse port driver, and should instantly work if the mouse is plugged in when you turn on the computer.

if that isn't the case, then you need the PS/2 mouse driver, that usually comes on the floppy disk that came with it, or perhaps CD in the modern realm of computing.

drivers are a very strange thing to deal with

Don't PS/2 mice require to be plugged in with the booting of the system?
USB-mice are plug'n'play, but I don't think that works for the PS/2 ones..

Still, if it doesn't work, my guess is that the mouse itself is fuxx0red, or the system is, as it can't pick up the damn thing.

Still, what I don't understand is why he didn't ask Google yet..

Actually, I moved it here, he originally posted it in the Vale General Discussion, which completely threw me for a loop...

For some reason I completely didn't think of mouse driver as in computer mouse driver that interfaces the mouse with the OS. I thought of a small chauffeur for a tiny car to drive a mouse around in. *puts down crack pipe*

you're not the only one. Though I am one of the few completely computer illeterate people in the world to actually live that cliche of using the cdrom drive as a drinks holder

i think now i dont think mouse driver because i look for it in windows/system mouse driver still present but not detected by windows. in control panel mouse has no driver. in add new hardware no driver available for mouse. do you think it maybe BIOS setting mouse is not enable. It happen when i instantly shutoff computer then mouse cant be used. So how will i enable mouse in BIOS. Or windows detect mouse driver.
